Monitoring Your Resource Usage (CPU & RAM)

< 1 min read

Why Monitoring Resources is Important #

While CyberWAF provides generous dedicated resources, monitoring usage is crucial for maintaining optimal website speed and stability. High usage is often an early indicator of:

  • Inefficient application code (e.g., poorly coded plugin).

  • A traffic spike or successful marketing campaign.

  • A suspected but minor bot/scraping attack that hasn’t been fully mitigated.

Locating the Resource Usage Tool in cPanel #

  1. Access cPanel: Log into your CyberWAF Client Area and navigate to cPanel (as detailed in Article 1).

  2. Find Metrics: On the cPanel dashboard, look for the section labeled “Metrics” or “Resource Usage.”

  3. View Limits and Usage: This tool displays your current dedicated allocation (e.g., 8 Cores CPU, 16GB RAM) and the percentage currently being consumed by your applications.

What to Do If Usage is Too High #

If you consistently see usage near or above 80% of your dedicated allocation:

  1. Optimize: Check your website’s back-end (plugins, theme) for unnecessary or resource-heavy components.

  2. Contact Support: Our team can help analyze the usage spikes to determine the root cause (malicious traffic vs. application inefficiency).

  3. Upgrade: If your growth is consistent and legitimate, it may be time to seamlessly upgrade your plan for higher dedicated resources.
