< 1 min read

Granular Restore vs. Full Restore #

A granular restore is ideal for recovering individual components, ensuring minimal data loss:

  • File Restore: Used if you accidentally deleted a crucial image or modified a theme file incorrectly.

  • Database Restore: Used if a database table was corrupted, or incorrect data was written.

Steps for File Restoration #

  1. Access Backup Tool: Navigate to the “Backup Manager” tool in cPanel.

  2. Select File Backup: Choose the “File Backups” option for the desired date.

  3. Navigate and Select: Browse the file directory structure (public_html). Locate the specific file or folder you need to recover.

  4. Restore: Click the “Restore Selected” button. The restored file will replace the current file instantly.

Steps for Database Restoration #

  1. Access Database Backups: In the Backup Manager, select the “Database Backups” option.

  2. Choose Database: Select the specific database name you need to restore.

  3. Restore: Click the restore button. Note: Restoring a database will overwrite the current database entirely.
