The complete guide to integrating CyberWAF with your website, covering DNS changes and initial configuration for immediate, powerful security protection.
Preparation Checklist #
Before starting, ensure you have access to:
-
Your CyberWAF Client Area login details.
-
Your domain registrar login details (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
-
Your website’s current files (in case you are not using our free migration service).
#
Option 1 (Recommended): Changing Nameservers #
This method is the simplest and ensures CyberWAF handles all your DNS records, providing maximum control and speed.
-
Retrieve CyberWAF Nameservers: Log into your CyberWAF Client Area. In the WAF Platform service details, you will find our two nameserver records (e.g.,
ns1.cyberwaf.comandns2.cyberwaf.com). -
Update at Your Registrar: Log into your domain registrar’s website. Navigate to the “DNS Management” or “Nameservers” section.
-
Replace Existing Nameservers: Replace your old nameservers with the CyberWAF nameservers.
-
Propagation: Save the changes. Note: DNS changes can take 4-24 hours to fully propagate worldwide.
#
Option 2 (Advanced): Updating A Records Only #
Choose this option only if you must keep your existing nameservers (e.g., for complex third-party DNS integrations).
-
Find Your CyberWAF IP: Find your new dedicated server IP address within your CyberWAF cPanel or Client Area details.
-
Update A Record: In your current DNS provider’s control panel, update the primary A Record for your domain (
@oryourdomain.com) to point to the CyberWAF IP address. -
Verify: After propagation, your site will be loading through the CyberWAF platform, applying WAF rules immediately.
